Hosting a trainee placement
The traditional skills of a trained
gardener can only be truly
mastered by practical training.
Do you have a gardening team
able to pass on their skills to
an enthusiastic trainee? The
HBGBS can offer significant
funding towards the 12 month
employment of a trainee keen to
gain practical skills in a garden
of excellence. The HBGBS
will manage the advertising,
interviews and training in
collaboration with your head
gardener. Trainees work full time
and undertake research projects
that are of direct value to the
gardens themselves.
Hosting a keen trainee will
stimulate your staff to consider
their
skills and take pride in the
responsibility of passing their skills on.
If you would like to discuss the possibility of your garden providing a
trainee placement please contact the Scheme Coordinator,
Fiona Dennis 01737 244 664 or
email fiona.dennis@english-heritage.org.uk.
