The
Institute of Field Archaeologists Yearbook and Directory 2007
 |
|
"We advance
the practice of archaeology and allied disciplines by
promoting professional standards and ethics for conserving,
managing, understanding and promoting enjoyment of the
heritage".
The
historic environment belongs to everyone. Archaeologists
are responsible for the care of a vulnerable and diminishing
resource and for promoting understanding and enjoyment
of the past. All archaeologists therefore have a duty
to adhere to the highest professional and ethical standards,
which are embodied in the IFA's Code of conduct. |
The new 124-page Institute
of Field Archaeologists Yearbook and Directory combines
the Institute's Code of conduct with a full list of the
individuals and organisations who adhere to it, plus the latest
news on the work of the IFA and archaeologists across the country, under the editorial theme of 'Sharing the Past'.
Peter Hinton, IFA Director, says "As the body providing
professional accreditation for UK archaeologists we know that
the best service can be obtained from our members and registered
organisations".
In his preface David Lammy, Minister for Culture,
says "I feel confident that the IFA will be a key partner with government, English Heritage and local authorities in creating the profession we need and the public deserves."
The 2007
edition of The Institute of Field Archaeologists Yearbook and
Directory, is distributed free to all members of the Institute. Members can purchase an additional copy for £15.00. The price of the Yearbook (including delivery), to non-members is £30.00.
