The fellowship provides grants for short study trips abroad, granted annually to students of conservation in the United Kingdom, whether they are at university or college, or within the formative years of their careers. Trade apprentices, trainee architects and landscape architects are all eligible.
The awards are not restricted to British nationals, but foreign students should plan projects outside their country of origin. To be eligible, applicants must be working in one of the following conservation subjects: (a.) historic buildings, gardens and landscape; (b.) the traditional building trades (c.) artefacts; (d.) historic and decorative crafts.
