The Museum was founded to share the understanding of historic buildings and technology and the materials used to build them. The museum has developed a stimulating programme of building conservation courses suitable for CPD, for anyone who works directly or with others in conserving historic buildings, and has a diverse range of courses in traditional rural trades and crafts based on its collections. The Museum also runs two MSc degrees, validated by Bournemouth University, in Building Conservation and Timber Building Conservation.
