Old fashioned traditional paints were made using natural plant oils as a binder together with earth pigments that not only protected timber but also lasted longer, required less maintenance and whose hues were subtle and attractive. Without the use of modern solvents, linseed oil paints provide a healthy alternative and are environmentally more sustainable. These two sessions will explore some of these questions and will include practical demonstrations showing how these paints are made and applied to timber. |
