Saxon Treewrights and their Buildings

One-day course covering the evidence for Saxon building in timber, roundwood and earth between the end of Roman Britain and the beginnings of timber framed carpentry c1180. The course will cover methods of construction, tools and materials. There will be an opportunity to handle real and replica building timbers.
