St Botolph Church Hall, Bishopgate, London
Young architects Bethan Watson and Cristiano Lamarque, who were awarded equal first place in the SPAB's 2016 Philip Webb Award, will talk about their winning schemes. Both schemes, one for the recovery of the earthquake-damaged Italian town of L'Aquila and the other for reimagining a redundant convent complex at Evora in Portugal as a care centre for people living with Alzheimer's, explored how memory can inspire the revitalisation of historic places for new uses.
