This area is collectively referred to as the Teesworks Industrial Zone or Teesworks. The work was not in accordance with a condition of planning but was undertaken as part of the local authority’s commitment to the area’s industrial heritage. TEP is a CIfA Registered Organisation, which gave the commissioning body confidence that the archaeological recording would be undertaken ethically, to professional standards and by competent experts.
