EECLESIASTICAL ORGANISATION
The Baptist Union of Great Britain is the Baptist family in England and Wales (there is also the Baptist Union of Wales). As an 'exempt' denomination, the BUGP appoints a Listed Building Advisory Committee to deal with applications which would otherwise require listed building consent.
Where a Baptist church in England or Wales is listed and in use as a place of worship, the consent of the Baptist Listed Building Advisory Committee is required for "any extension, alteration or work to the listed building itself, any object or structure within the building or fixed to the exterior of the building and generally for any object or structure within the curtilage of the building" (from LB01: Introducing the Listed Buildings Advisory Committee).
All enquiries are dealt with by the Baptist Union Corporation (BUC), tel 01235 517700 or email: buc.corp@baptist.org.uk. |
