ACCREDITATION
The RIAS, the professional body for architects in Scotland, provides a list of registered architects who are suitably qualified and experienced to act as the lead professional in conservation work. These practitioners may be accredited by the RIAS to one of two levels;
Accredited - competent in working in the historic built environment Advanced - recognised conservation specialists.
Assessment is made by two members of a panel of senior RIAS members with extensive conservation architecture expertise.
The scheme offers clients information about their proposed architect, and confidence that the person accredited has been able to demonstrate specific knowledge in this area of work. However, in addition, clients should still undertake their own careful selection process to ensure that the proposed architect is suitable for their project. |
