24th Oct, 2024
Cressing Temple, Essex

When working in the Historic Environment it is essential to understand the significance of heritage assets affected by a proposal. This is not only required by planning policy, but also undertaking such assessments at the outset provides a sound baseline for an appropriate proposal. This course is aimed at professionals working in the heritage sector. The day will explore the types of assessment required, as well as recognised guidance and methodologies. During the day there will also be discussions surrounding the significance of heritage assets. This day course explores the following: Why undertake a Heritage Statement; Content and Format; Methodology; Research and Resources; Types of Heritage Assets; Assessing Heritage Significance; and Chapter 16 of the NPPF.
