13th Sep, 2024 Yoxall , Staffordshire |
|
Join the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Group for a walk around Yoxall, an Anglo-Saxon settlement in Staffordshire, followed by a tour of the Grade II* listed Pear Tree Farm. This Grade II* Listed building is of the late Stuart/Georgian period and contains apotropaic marks and graffiti intended to protect the house from illness, disease and fire. After coffee, walk around the village to see a variety of buildings of special architectural or historic interest, including a rare Roman Catholic church and several interesting industrial buildings. After lunch at The Crown pub, you'll return to Pear Tree Farm for a tour with the owners. |
