Introduction to Lithics & Flint Identification

This half-day course will provide an overview of lithics in archaeology, and the methods and approaches to their identification and analysis. It will explore the key attributes of worked flint, changing technologies used to knap flint and lithics' context within archaeological practice. The course will also cover typologies and will showcase some local sites and examples within Essex to provide insight to what is typically found in this area.
