Come along to the birthplace of the Ancient Monuments Society. We will be starting our centenary celebrations with a tour of the magnificent, Grade I listed John Rylands Library in central Manchester, a stunning building in neo-Gothic style which was founded by Enriqueta Rylands in memory of her husband, John, and opened to the public in 1900. Now part of the University of Manchester, the library houses the University’s Special Collections and is the third largest academic library in the United Kingdom. |
