A registered charity, the Bedford Park Society was set up in 1963 to protect the amenities of the earliest garden suburb. The Society's website contains information about the architectural aspects of Bedford Park, as well as the extraordinary story of the social life in the suburb in the late 1870s through to the beginning of the Great War.
The Society provides a free log book for every listed building, providing a history of the particular house as well as general information on planning and conservation issues. All this information is maintained on a central database, which can be accessed by local planners and conservation officers, as well as Society members.
The Society is open to all those with an interest in Victorian architecture and the garden suburbs. |
