Architecture for London is an award-winning practice specialising in sensitive refurbishments and extensions of listed buildings and historic homes across London. As an RIBA chartered practice, we help private homeowners upgrade and reconfigure historic houses while preserving the qualities that make them special.

We work with Grade II, Grade II* and Grade I listed buildings, including houses, subdivided flats, apartments in mansion blocks and properties in conservation areas. Many of these projects carefully combine conservation with extensions and low-energy refurbishment, improving comfort and performance while maintaining historic character.

We develop low-energy strategies tailored to heritage buildings. We improve airtightness with lime plaster and can assist in the selection of conservation-approved vacuum slim glazing or secondary glazing. Our approach protects the building’s historic character while reducing energy use and improving comfort.
