INFORMATION RESOURCE

The Historic Religious Buildings Alliance was set up in 2008 and is an independently funded group within the The Heritage Alliance (established in 2002 as Heritage Link). It brings together those working for a secure future for historic religious buildings from across the UK. These include both those buildings which are still open as places of worship and those which are no longer needed for worship, but because of their architectural and historical importance are being cared for and/or reused by charities and volunteers. Membership includes organisations which own or otherwise have a stake in the future of our historic places of worship as well as those organisations which provide support such as Maintain our Heritage. Its membership currently includes members from all major Christian denominations and from the Jewish and Muslim faith groups as well as organisations such as the Historic Chapels Trust and the Churches Conservation Trust.

The HRBA free e-newsletter offers updates on news and events concerning the future of historic religious buildings. Where appropriate, HRBA also provides a communication channel with government for our representative members, on matters affecting historic religious buildings in Great Britain.
