Corinthian Stone is a family-run stonemasonry company based in Bedfordshire, specialising in the restoration and conservation of churches and historic buildings. Most of the firm’s projects are small to medium, carried out in the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire region.
Stonemason Andrew Gerard founded the company in the late 1980s. He was taught conservation techniques, when he trained as an apprentice at the Department of the Environment’s Ancient Monuments section in the mid-’70s. His son, Daniel is carrying on the family tradition and was trained as a stonemason at the City of Bath College.
Some recent projects include the restoration of the north clerestory windows at St Mary’s Church Hemel Hempstead and the conservation part of the ancient walls on the Waltham Abbey ruins.
